About this event

Maine Township's 40th annual Agency Day will feature a workshop entitled Let's Change How Your Team Adapts to Change presented by professional speaker and trainer Glenn Anderson. This event provides a great opportunity for local organizations to network and exchange information about services in the Maine Township community and is open to employees from social service agencies, non-profits, schools, churches, hospitals, and units of government. Registration deadline is April 28.

Workshop Details

As dealing with change becomes a regular business activity, leading change becomes a skill to develop and master. Adapting a team and a business in today's world of "always on" transformation can be invigorating instead of exhausting. Don't try to avoid the chaos, manage it by understanding the Satir Change Curve Model. Focusing on the people through empathy and perspective are the keys to success. Discover the steps to becoming an effective change leader through this enlightening look at organizational transformation.

Attendees will learn how to:

  • Switch from being a change manager to a change leader
  • Understand that chaos during change is not failure
  • Develop organizational flexibility
  • Focus on the people you are leading through change

Speaker Biography

Glenn Anderson helps team leaders and emerging leaders solve their team's communication and collaboration problems. Glenn's presentations, workshops, and webinars combine decades of corporate experience and teaching with his passion for performing improvisational comedy. The result - your audience is energized and equipped to exceed their team goals.

Glenn knows what it takes to capture attention in the business world. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Missouri University of Science and Technology. Glenn enjoyed a long career with IBM – in sales, management, training, and event speaking. He produced IT conferences and was a featured speaker for thousands of people.

As a graduate of Player’s Workshop of Second City and with his experience performing improvisational theater, Glenn excites your audience with teaching experience and improv techniques that energize communications and create a collaborative team environment.

Agency Presentations

To help increase awareness of local community resources, the first ten agencies to respond will have 2-3 minutes each to share their mission and services with those in attendance during the morning program. Everyone is encouraged to bring brochures, flyers, and business cards to display on our information tables and to use for networking purposes.

Cost

$25/person - includes 2.0 CEUs for social workers, professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, psychologists, and nurses. A nominal fee will be added to all orders placed with a credit card.

Maine Township is one of twenty-nine townships in Cook County. Maine Township contains portions of Des Plaines, Park Ridge, Niles, Glenview, Morton Grove, and Rosemont. Founded in 1850, Maine Township is the oldest unit of local government in the area. Maine Township exists to serve the needs of its residents. Their services include:• Assessor - provides assistance with property tax assessment appeals and exemptions • Clerk - a central location for voter registration, passports, hunting and fishing licenses, etc.• Code Enforcement - monitors compliance with local code ordinances in unincorporated area • Emergency Management - provides resources and expertise in responding to local emergencies• Food Pantry - provides food and holiday meals to needy families• General Assistance - assists financially distressed residents by providing temporary financial assistance and advocacy services• Highway - services and maintains roads in unincorporated area• MaineStreamers - provides a variety of activities, trips, and recreational programs for seniors• MaineStay Youth & Family Services - provides affordable strength-based counseling, psychoeducational groups, and programs for at-risk youth • Recovery Connection - connects young adults in recovery with each other through weekly meetings, social events, and community resources
